Nimotop is an oral treatment intended to aid recovery in patients who have suffered subarachnoid hemorrhages as a result of brain aneurysm and other thrombotic events. Deaths and serious, life threatening adverse events have occurred when the contents of Nimotop Capsules have been injected parenterally, or through the intestines.

A black box warning was added to Nimotop’s prescribing information by the FDA in January of 2006.
