Revlimid Black Box Warning

Market Name: Revlimid

Generic Name: Lenalidomide

Revlimid is indicated for the treatment of Multiple Myeloma and Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). Testing of Revlimid showed a high incidence of human birth defects, deep-vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and blood conditions such as neutropenia and thrombocytopenia.

A black box warning was added to Revlimid’s prescribing information in June of 2006.
